IA: US61 Louisa County line to north of Wapello
« on: December 04, 2017, 03:08:34 am »
The 4 lane section is in use.  There is still some shoulder work going on so cones were up headed southbound, but the cones were down going northbound.  The exit by Louisa-Muscatine High School is exit 76.  I didn't catch and remember the exit number for IA92 at Grandview, but Mapnik shows it is 74.

I had been waiting for official news of this segment's opening. There was a story from the beginning of November saying it was planned for the 20th, but then Jason Hancock said it didn't open until Dec. 1. Regardless, I have submitted an update.

Yea, it wasn't open at Thanksgiving.  I knew it had to be getting close though since it was still routed the same as it had been at Labor Day, which was some of the new route with bi-directional traffic on the ramps at IA92.  They had done seeding too.  In late July it hadn't been using any of the new route really, so they were making some good progress towards opening it.  I had figured that if it wasn't open on the 3rd/4th that it surely would be open by Christmas.  Now I expect the old road will be torn out by then.
