Switzerland Hauptstrassen (cheh)
« on: September 25, 2016, 08:54:57 am »
The system is drafted and in preview now.

However, there's a little issue we have to clarify before it can be activated.

According to the Swiss law, there are:
Autobahnen,
Kantonale Autobahnen,
(Kantonale) Autostrassen and
Hauptstrassen.

Our tier 1 chea system contains Autobahnen and the new tier 4 cheh system contains Hauptstrassen but  what's about "Kantonale Autobahnen" (regional Autobahns) and "Autostrassen"? Most of them are contained in the existing systems but some are missing. They are access-controlled and grade-separted but two-way roads, one carriageway only. They're not signed.

I've drafted the missing routes but I've no idea to which system we should put them.

Status of "Kantonale Autobahnen" (official list, 1st January 2016 version):
Lyss (Nord)-Schönbühl (N1) --> A6
Muri (N6)-Rüfenacht (H10) --> MISSING che.zubruf Zubringer Rüfenacht --> median but each c/w has 1 lane only
Reinach-Hagnau (N2) --> A18
Augst (N2)-Liestal (Nord) --> A22
Liestal (Süd)-Sissach (N2) --> A22

Rohr-Aarau (Ost) (N1) --> H5
Baar (N4)-Walterswil (ZG) --> A4a/H4
Umfahrung Glattfelden --> A50
Bülach (Nord)-Kloten (N1b) --> A51
Brüttisellen (N1)-Volketswil-Uster (Ost) --> A53
Hinwiler Kreuz-Rüti-(ZH/SG) --> A53
Eschenbach-Reichenburg (N3) --> A53

Crêt du Locle-La Chaux-de-Fonds (Ouest) --> H20
Les Hauts-Geneveys-Neuchâtel-Vauseyon (N5) --> H20

Status of "Kantonale Autostrassen" (official list, 1st January 2016 version):
Biel-Brüggmoos (N5)-Lyss (Nord) --> A6
Eggfluhtunnel --> MISSING che.egggre Eggfluhtunnel Grellingen
Aesch (BL) (H18)-Reinach --> A18
Liestal (Nord)-Liestal (Süd) --> A22
Umfahrung Sissach --> A22
(ZH/SG)-Eschenbach --> A53

La Chaux-de-Fonds (Sud)-Les Hauts-Geneveys --> H20
Gals-Ins --> MISSING che.galsins Autostrasse Gals - Ins
Martigny-Expo (N9)-Martigny-Croix --> H21
Frasnacht-Rorschach --> A1.1
Aeroporto Locarno-Ascona --> A13

Mendrisio (N2)-Stabio (Est) --> MISSING che.supmensta Superstrada Mendrisio - Stabio
Spiez (N8)-Mülenen --> MISSING che.h223 Autostrasse Spiez - Mülenen
Umfahrung Zurzach --> H7
Oensingen (N1)-Äussere Klus --> MISSING che.autoenklu Autostrasse Oensingen - Klus
Werthenstein-Blatten --> H10?
Zumikon-Forch-Hinwiler Kreuz --> A52
Hinwil-Hinwiler Kreuz --> MISSING che.uebhin Ueberlandstrasse Hinwil
Lustmühle-Teufen --> MISSING che.umfteu Umfahrung Teufen
Umfahrung Hausen --> MISSING che.zubhau Zubringer Hausen
Thayngen-Mutzentäli (N4) --> A4
Umfahrung Bazenheid --> MISSING che.umfbaz Umfahrung Bazenheid (T16/SG13?)
Umfahrung Lichtensteig --> MISSING che.umflicwat Umfahrung Lichtensteig und Wattwil (T16/SG13?)
Umfahrung Wattwil --> MISSING che.umflicwat Umfahrung Lichtensteig und Wattwil (T16/SG13?)
Umfahrung Ebnat-Kappel --> MISSING che.umfebnkap Umfahrung Ebnat-Kappel (T16/SG13?)

The missing routes are in a higher category compared to cheh (tier 4) but they have 1 carriageway only. Again, I don't know where to put them.  My thoughts:
- Adding to eursf tier 2 system [con: 1 c/w only]
- Another new cheas (Switzerland Autostrassen) tier 4 system in addition to cheh [con: cheas incomplete b/c most routes are already chea or cheh]
- New cheas (Switzerland Autostrassen) tier 4 system, cheh to tier 5 [con: cheas incomplete b/c most routes are already chea or cheh]
- New eursor (Europe Select Other Roads) tier 5 system [con: it seems that the eursor idea will be rejected]
- New chesor (Switzerland Select Other Roads) tier 5 system [con: it's higher than cheh]

What do you think?

System is ready for peer-review now: tm.teresco.org/hb/index.php?sys=cheh.

Some general notes about Swiss routes:
- The above mentioned Autostrassen are eursf routes now because they have a similar or even higher road standard compared to other tier-2 systems
- I'm not sure if I should add "Svincolo Lugano Sud" b/n A2 and H2 to eursf and split A2 exit 50?
- I've added A6 exit 11b although I couldn't find any numbering but I also couldn't find any numbering for the existing waypoint "11a". The order 11a/11b should be changed but "11a" is a point in use...
- 3-digit Hauptstrassen are generally not signed

H1 - 2(ZubLet) -> ZubLet(2); 3(ZubLet) -> ZubLet(3)
H2 - as the main route, doesn't need the (Luzern); route goes through Sissach?; needs shaping point south of H561_Chi
H2Air - fine
H2a - fine
H2b - fine

- Adding to eursf tier 2 system [con: 1 c/w only]
Seems an easy default dumping ground for these awkward routes. I'll have a look later and see if suitable.

It was already done about 4 weeks later: https://github.com/TravelMapping/HighwayData/pull/845

If memory serves, I just asked before I went on a trip to France and Luxembourg last fall. I drove luxb routes which have 1 c/w only but are a tier 2 system. For that reason, I also put these Swiss routes to eursf system, tier 2.

H3 - fine
H4 - ZubWie_Wie -> ZubWie(3); ZubWie_Bru -> ZubWie(2)
H4Sch - fine

If possible, exit numbers rather than suffixes.

H6 - 22(A8) -> A8(22); 23(A8) -> A8(23)

I've made all modifications but I don't agree with this suggestion because H6 is concurrent with A8 here.

I'll check H10 to H30 for the suffix vs. exit number issue soon. Afterwards, you can complete your review :)

I don't particularly like it, but the consensus was for consistent numbering. Keep it.

Done. Should I generally add additional shaping points to make clear if the route is via the bypass or through the village when drafting other routes?

Depends if it looks as if the route is going through the town or not.

The remaining routes are on the way, Mapnik taking ages to load means it will probably be an hour for me to do the 5 routes I've not yet done.

Ok, no hurry. Mapnik is currently working fine for me (only SSC is down) but I sometimes have a similar problem. IIRC, a webbrowser restart sometimes worked once...
